May 8, 2009 – MAXSON Offers In-Line Sheeter for Printing Presses

05.8.09Outfitted with digital drive controls, sheet length is infinitely variable throughout the cutoff range with accuracies within + 0.015″ of the desired setting. A slitting rig prior to the cutter trims oversized rolls to within 0.005″ of the needed width. On a 40″ repeat, the sheeter is able to run at speeds up to 18,000 impressions/hour. For packaging applications, the sheeter can be outfitted with a dual knife rotary cutter, automatic splicing system and reject gate to realize the highest press productivity available on long production runs.

Available in various sizes, the in line sheeter can be fitted to sheet fed printing presses up to 51″ x 73″ wide format. In cases where the grain orientation is critical to post press operations, a right angle version of the sheeter is also available. The design of the sheeter is such that it can be easily retracted from the press’ feeder to allow skids of material to be run through the press as conditions dictate.
