The DFK Sheeter is designed for mills or large converting operations that require high production capacity. Whether configured for fine paper or board production, the heavy-duty dual rotary sheeting machine can be outfitted with productivity-enhancing components that boost output without increasing crew size.
The sheeter can be outfitted with large capacity roll stands, automated splicing systems, dancer rolls, programmable decurling units, web steering and splice detection to insure continuous, smooth web flow into the cutter infeed requiring minimal Operator involvement. The dual rotary cutter is outfitted with easily positioned slitters and a pull roll section that features a large diameter draw drum to eliminate length variation caused by ‘stair cut’. The twin solid knife revolvers featuring a unique quick change blade clamping adjustment provides superior cut quality on up to 6 webs of paper.
The DFK’s rugged delivery system includes a reject gate, a sheet cleaner, and a unique method of controlling the leading and trailing edge of the sheet packet at the point of overlap. The use of air and a ‘tapes over the pile’ feature provide jam free flow into the stacker, even on lightweight, static prone, and extended length sheets. The high capacity stacker uses a ‘pile offset’ feature that eliminates the need to re-jog piles. The rapid pallet discharge design automates the off loading of piles and reloading of empty skids into position without stopping the sheeter.
The footprint of the DFK Sheeter is operator friendly and conducive to fast change overs. Complete size changes require less than 10 minutes. For longer runs, roll changes take less than a minute as do skid changes. Control stations provide menu driven production data, operating conditions and enunciated faults at the operator’s touch. Outfitted with an ethernet connection the sheeter’s electrical system can be monitored, evaluated or modified by Maxson Automatic Machinery Company technicians in Westerly.
