Maxson Automatic Machinery Company (Westerly RI USA) celebrates its 100th anniversary of providing in line and off line sheeting solutions for the Printing, Paper and Specialties Industries. Founded in 1912 by Charles B. Maxson, the Company has a long history of innovation and pioneering design in rotary cutters and sheet handling systems including the first high speed delivery system, the first counter and marking system, and the first electronic sorting inspection.
From its Westerly RI USA facility, MAXSON services a global market with installations in South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia as well as the North American market. Says third generation President Joseph F. Matthews, “As an engineering oriented equipment manufacturer, we take pride in responding to our Customers’ unique requirements rather than supplying a standard machine to the Industry. This approach has allowed us to serve niche markets such as digital sizes, large sheet format, cut to mark, and sensitive coating products in meeting their converting needs.”
Matthews predicts more innovative developments in sheeting designs to cost effectively address shorter production runs, ease of operation and simpler maintenance our second century, “we recognize from our history that anticipating our Customers needs is the key to our future.
